2. Product Overview

What is Adobe Express? Adobe Express is Adobe's all-in-one design app for creating flyers, social media graphics, presentations, short videos, and other visual content. It includes templates, brand kits, and generative AI (GenAI) tools such as text-to-image and text effects as well as photo video edits.

What is Adobe Acrobat Studio, and how does it give me Adobe Express? Adobe Acrobat Studio is Adobe's newer, expanded version of Acrobat Pro. In addition to the standard PDF tools (edit, sign, convert, organize), it bundles Adobe Express Premium and AI Assistant features through Adobe Acrobat Studio, everyone with a license also receives Adobe Express Premium.

3. What You Can Create

What can I use Adobe Express for? Common uses for faculty and staff include:

  • Flyers, posters, and event announcements

  • Social media graphics and campus communications

  • Presentation slides and handouts

  • Newsletters and infographics

  • Short promotional videos and animated graphics

How can faculty use Adobe Express in teaching? Create course introduction videos Design visual course summaries Develop infographics for complex concepts Produce short explainer videos Create interactive study guides Generate social-media style assignments Design accessible visual resources Support student digital storytelling projects

4. Generative AI (GenAI) Credits

What are GenAI credits? Many of Adobe Express's AI-powered features — such as generating images from a text prompt, generative fill, and text effects — run on Adobe's Firefly AI models and consume "generative credits" (GenAI credits) each time you use them. Basic design tools like templates, resizing, and manual editing do not use credits.

How many GenAI credits do I get, and how often do they reset? Through our Adobe Acrobat Studio plan, each user receives 1,000 GenAI credits per month. Credits reset automatically at the start of each monthly cycle — unused credits do not roll over.

What happens if I run out of credits before the month resets? You can still use GenAI features after your monthly credits are used up, but generations may take longer to complete since they run at a lower priority. All non-AI features of Adobe Express remain fully available regardless of credit balance.

How can I check how many credits I have left? Sign in to Adobe Express or your Adobe account page and select your profile icon in the upper-right corner; your remaining generative credits and reset date are displayed there.

5. Responsible Use of AI at KPU

What information can I upload or enter into AI prompts? Employees at KPU, whether they are faculty or staff, engage with Generative AI in a wide variety of ways, from teaching practices in the classroom to communications for university business. KPU recommends that employees keep the following guidelines in mind while developing their Gen AI knowledge and skills.

Faculty members have autonomy in determining appropriate AI use within their courses, using permitted technology within the parameters set out in the Teaching Guidance provided by the Centre for Educational Transformation.

Staff members should consider how they engage with Generative AI within the guidelines established by Human Resources.
