Selecting a location in a ticket

Body

  1. The location field found in service request forms looks similar on each ticket:

Since KPU has several campuses with several buildings on each campus, the first thing to understand about the location field is that it is built as a combination of Campus and Building in order to ensure that when a room is finally chosen it is specific to a building location. The choice of a singular campus such as KPU Surrey, or KPU Richmond will not allow for a room to be selected and should only be used if the request pertains to an entire campus.

  1. Once you click on the blue magnifying glass a separate window will open up allowing you to select any KPU Campus/Building location within the system. Click on the red name of the Campus/Building location and it will be added to your request.

  1. Once you've added a Campus/Building location another field will open up on the form to allow you to add a specific room. NOTE: for reporting purposes only one room can be selected so ensure it is your primary location and you can add any additional locations in the body of your request or in the field for additional information.
  2. If you know the room number of the space simply type it into the field. Once a blue bar with the room number shows up you can click on the blue bar to add in the room.

  1. If you want to review all room numbers for the Campus/Building location you have selected, click on the blue magnifying glass and a search window will open up. In the search field of this window you should again click on a blue magnifying glass and once again choose the Campus/Building that you have previously selected. Once you have chosen this combination hit the search button and you will be presented with every room number available in that Campus/Building location. Click on the number and it will be added to your form.
